As per a video over YouTube made by an ex-RAW officer Mr. N. K. Sood, Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone allegedly took a sum of around 5 Crores from a Pakistani Businessman to attend a protest against Citizenship Amendment Act at the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) on January 7th earlier this year.
To oppose the CAA, there were huge protests throughout the country including JNU, where the protests turned into attacks and several students were hurt.
Deepika’s visit came merely 3 days before her then upcoming film ‘Chhapaak’ a biopic based on the life of Laxmi Agarwal, an acid attack survivor. Deepika’s visit to the campus was also seen as ‘Publicity Stunt’ and to gain a P.R. for her film. ‘Bajirao Mastani’ famed actress did not utter a single word during her entire visit inside the JNU campus.
Allegations made by ex-RAW officer
The story turned on its head when ex-RAW officer Mr. N.K. Sood who is also the author of the book ‘My Prime Minister Narendra Modi (Foreign Visits & Achievements)’ claimed that Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone took a hefty sum of 5 Crores from British-Pakistani Businessman Aneel Mussarat.
Aneel currently is the CEO of MCR Property Group, a real estate investment and development company. Aneel who has been seen in pics with famous Bollywood Celebrities has been working as a fund-raiser and provider for Tehreek-e-Insaf party which is the ruling party of Pakistan lead by Pakistani P.M. Imran Khan.
Many big names of B-Town such as Ranveer Singh, Karan Johar, Hririk Roshan, Anil Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor and many more were also present present at the wedding of Mussarat’s daughter in London.
Even with all these connections of Bollywood with Aneel Mussarat being out in the open, it still does not in-fact proves that Deepika Padukone took money from him to join the protests against CAA. Deepika’s JNU attempt can be exclaimed as a failed ‘Publicity Stunt’ but it is safe to say she did not take the 5 Crores or any money per say to be at the protest.
After her appearance in the protest, her brand endorsements deals were cut-off and she was by that time left with no brand deals. Her movie ‘Chappak’ too failed at the box office after she appeared in the protests. So the direct question is, why would anyone lose everything for a mere 5 crores and that too from a Pakistani born (tension between India and Pakistan), British businessman?
Secondly, NK Sood also claimed that this case has been looked after by the ED (Enforcement Directorate), it is yet again fake since he is an ex-Raw and how would he got to know the inside news when he is not even working in the government anymore?
Recently Swara Bhaskar lashed at out those who were making this claim and putting Deepika in bad light.
Hence all these facts together come to a conclusion that it is just a mere guess from an Ex-Raw Agent and there is no solid proof for anything. Therefore this news is nothing but fake in all its form.
